Stress, Menopause and Becoming a Nest Warmer: The Bach Blend Supporting Me

Stress is a word that encompasses many emotions, and even then those emotions can vary from one person to another, or simply show up at different intensities.
For me right now, stress is tied to the sheer amount of change happening in my life. There is of course the big M, menopause, which brings its own wave of change. Then there is being single again for the first time in over thirty years. And I am now a Nest Warmer, my newly invented term for Empty Nester (I just don’t like the term empty, so this is for those of us who prefer to feel that we are keeping the nest warm for any returns, fleeting or otherwise).

So yes, there is a lot going on.

Thankfully I practise what I preach, so I am taking my own personal Bach blend:
Walnut to help me stay steady and true to myself through all this change
Honeysuckle for those moments of reminiscing, especially when I think about the years when my beautiful young adult children were all at home
Larch to support my self confidence as I navigate these challenging times
Elm because, honestly, everything feels overwhelming at the moment
Star of Bethlehem for the emotional shock of big life changes and separation

And there is Nature. It always helps me reconnect with myself. A walk on the beach or looking up at the stars at night reminds me that stress is just one part of life, not the whole picture.
